           Wang Yuanwan, chairman of Shanghai Zall Enterprise Development (Group) Co., Ltd. expressed his own view on “what development pattern the domestic-invested large and small elevator producers in China should choose”: different from most foreign invested elevator producers, the domestic-invested producers in China have the disadvantages of short history, weak competing power on market, and irregular competition between enterprises. However, there is the bestowed and inherited advantage of relatively production cost in domestic enterprises, with a gap from the high cost in some foreign-invested enterprises.
           With the accelerated development of socialist market economy system and the deepening of market competition, the importance of management is becoming daily outstanding. In the future, domestic-invested large and small elevator producers in China will take different development routes according to the natures of enterprises.
           For large producers, they have already got some market share for their size, with some guarantee on “quantity”. Therefore, for better performance in their future development, they should emphasize on the “quality” of their products. That means big producers should get rid of the idea of increasing overall scale, instead, they should grasp and concentrate on some critical technologies, to raise their acceptance on the market. It is suggested to make more efforts on technological research and development and product quality, to become strong in some aspects in the industry. Emphasis should be placed on technological innovation, to get proprietary intellectual property rights. A big enterprise can be a really big one only when it has become strong. Otherwise it is only a paper tiger and cannot stand wind and waves.
           In each sector there are many gold diggers, making the market competition more intense, small enterprises should pay more attention to “differentiation” between enterprises by seeking for development routes suitable to their own in the sector. Different from big enterprises with existing traditional channels, small enterprises need not care this fixed pattern, they are flexible and can make more things new and original in characters of products, so that they can be attractive among many brands, otherwise, they will be easily obsoleted.
